Thinking Out Loud

Good morning! (Or afternoon, whenever you’re reading this). It is time for some thinking out loud!

I took a quiz on Facebook on Sunday night and apparently I look 81% like Victoria Beckham. I’m going to go ahead and disagree with that, but since I think she’s pretty I’ll be flattered by it anyway.

I’ve done it again. I went ahead and signed up for two more marathons! First will be the Thunder Road Marathon in Charlotte, NC, so I’ll be able to visit my sisters again. The second will be only three weeks after Thunder Road in Memphis, TN for the St. Jude Marathon! I love the work that St. Jude does so it seems appropriate to support the cause. I am raising money for St. Jude as well, so if you feel so inclined to help out a great cause, here is the link to my page! And if you don’t feel like donating to my cause, Jen and Cecilia are doing some fundraising for St. Jude as well!

My friend Jordan and I share links to clothes that we like and we tend to have similar styles so we end up buying some of the same things, which is totally fine, but then this occasionally happens at work.

And while I’m sharing stories about Jordan and our clothing habits, she tried to order a shirt that was just like mine and Express sent her the wrong shirt. It was also massive. Like a size small literally was big enough for both of us to get in it. We know because we did it.

And because it is super adorable and this girl is from Kansas (#represent), I had to share this video. I know it is several months old but it is still awesome and it makes me smile. And there’s nothing wrong with that!

And since time always gets away from me…I am only 10 days from the Twin Cities Marathon! It is amazing how fast training periods always go! I know I shouldn’t be surprised by this, but wow!  And in other exciting news, that also means we get to see Susan and Johnny in 10 days!

I read Janae at Hungry Runner Girl every day. She did a podcast on Runners Connect with Tina Muir so of course I had to check it out. It is great stuff and if you’re looking for a good podcast, definitely check it out. Runners Connect has some awesome information available so it is a great resource for any running related questions you may have!

Could you name all the presidents? – Me, not a chance.

What celebrity do people tell you that you look like?

If you are racing, where is your next race?

    • Thank you! It isn’t for everyone, but I’m convinced that if you wanted to do it, you could! I was never coordinated enough to do other sports so I started running and never quit!

  • oooo good luck! I miss Minnesota… kind of. the fair and my friends, not the winter hahaha. I can not name the presidents, I can barely remember all the states! 😉 That large shirt is so funny. And I dont really think i look like any celebrity…. for a bit maybe emma stone? but not really.

  • Woah, good luck on the upcoming marathon(s)!! I listened to the Runners Connect podcast too and really like it. It’s now on the podcast rotation for sure.

    • Lol…I did have to google her to see who she was. I can see the resemblance! She was out Lane and my favorite show – Psych!! But maybe I shouldn’t mention that since she was also crazy on Psych… 😉

  • I’m so excited that you’re coming to Memphis – GAH!!!!! I can’t believe your race is only 10 days away; you’re right…time definitely does get past us really quickly. This picture of you and Jordan in the same shirt is cracking me up; thank you for sharing your work antics with us! Hope you have a great Thursday!

  • OMG I probably could not name half of the presidents. I do not like history. I have no marathons on the books, however I do have 100 mile race in January.. Super exciting
I live in Memphis, but I am not doing the St. Judes marathon maybe I will volunteer!!!

    • I’ve always loved history, but I still can’t name all the presidents. There are a few that if someone told me they were a president I might not believe them; like Zachary Taylor. Does anyone (other than that little girl) know anything about him!? I’m hoping for a meet up in Memphis! 🙂

  • wow you just all non-challantly said “oh i registered for two marathons pretty much back to back no biggie”. good for you, i am still working up the courage to do 1!! the celebrity i get compared to is julia roberts and ginnifer goodwin both of which are adorable and amazing and i am 0% upset about it 🙂

    • You and SJP could totally be related. You definitely look alike. I can’t wait to hear about your NYC experience! Mine was very strange with my weird drop foot issue and not knowing if I could even run, so I feel like I need to experience it again before I form a solid opinion on it!

  • Thanks for the shout out! I’m so excited you are coming. It is going to be amazing! My next race is a 10 miler called “The Beast”. Nuff Said. Celebrity look alike…Claire Forlani, you might have to google her. I don’t see it but whatevs. Good luck at Twin Cities!

    • I’m super excited to visit!! Um…that 10 miler doesn’t sound easy… I actually do know who Claire Forlani is because I was in love with the movie Boys and Girls back in the day. I think you look like Kara Goucher! 🙂
